The AVA Board and Conference Program Committee are delighted to welcome you to the AVA Annual Conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Come to Adelaide and refresh your passion for the profession with the engaging conference program, renew connections with your fellow veterinary professionals and refocus both your clinical and power (non-clinical) skills with a fantastic week of learning and collegiality. We kick off the week with the Thrive Symposium on Sunday afternoon where we will take you on a journey through the three pillars of the Thrive program, Promote, Prevent and Protect.

Join us for thought provoking plenary sessions focused on workforce challenges with an international veterinary association guest panel; the impact of civility and team culture on your health and business with Olivia Oginska and how trust in leadership is the key to team performance with Marie-Claire Ross. We are also excited to announce the veterinarian who literally wrote the book on small animal infectious disease, Jane Sykes, will be joining us as a keynote and plenary speaker. Theriogenologist Jennifer Hatzel from Colorado State University will lead a reproduction, foal and young horse focused equine stream.

Behaviour specialist Trepheena Hunter, supported by your favourite behaviour speakers will provide a series of lectures to build your behaviour medicine skills from initial exam to treatment and how to manage those tricky cases. While the ever-popular veterinary dentist Williana Basuki heads the dental stream that will sharpen your technical skills in small animal dentistry. These exciting keynotes will be joined by a wide range of handpicked local speakers that will challenge you to broaden your perspective and hone your skills.

The AVA Annual Conference is more than just a learning experience. It is an opportunity to reconnect with old colleagues and meet new ones at one of the many social functions throughout the week, from university alumni dinners to meeting with like-minded individuals at the SIG functions. Venue

Fresh from a $397M redevelopment, the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) is one of the world’s most modern, flexible and technologically advanced venues. Comprising three distinct yet seamlessly integrated buildings, the Centre spans 20,000sqm of multi-purpose space. The venue’s East Building features a state-of-the-art Plenary offering tiered seating for more than 3,000 people or 3,000sqm flat floor space for banquets and exhibitions.

Its combination of hinged seating, operable walls and rotating seating drums allow the Plenary to be arranged into more than 15 different configurations. In addition to its modern facilities, the Centre is known for its creative menus, expert service and innovative technologies.
